It Goes With the Shoes, tells the story of gay rights icon, Bette Bourne and a group of friends, performers & activists who took on the establishment with high heels and lipstick, playing a vital role in cracking open society in the 1970s & 80s.

Directed with sensitivity by Ravenhill and Jeffs, the film tracks 20th-century gay culture, covering the closet culture of the 50s, the gay liberation movement, Bourne's success with his cabaret company The Bloolips, and the arrival of Aids.

This event includes an introduction and then post screening Q&A with Bette Bourne, Mark Ravenhill and Hester Chillingworth.
