Drama Teacher Conference 2019: Two day package

21 - 22 February 2019
Running Time: 10am - 5pm each day

Join us during February half term for two days of inspiring professional development, exploring theatre practice through workshops, talks, discussions and masterclasses with a variety of fantastic theatre-makers, including NT artists and staff.

The full programme includes:

  • Director Katie Mitchell (When We Have Sufficiently Tortured Each Other, Cleansed, Waves at the National Theatre) in conversation with Dan Rebellato
  • Physical theatre company Frantic Assembly (Movement Directors for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time)
  • NT Head of Voice, Jeannette Nelson
  • Jesse Jones, director and co-founder of devising company, Wardrobe Ensemble (Education, Education, Education)
  • Verbatim company Lung Theatre  (creators of Trojan Horse, E15, Chilcot)
  • Puppeteers Toby Olié and Finn Caldwell (original War Horse cast and founders of Gyre and Gimble
  • Dom Bilkey, Head of Sound and Video at the National Theatre
  • Kane Husbands, Artistic Director of The PappyShow
  • Director Sally Cookson (Treasure Island, Peter Pan and Jane Eyre at the National Theatre)
  • Dialect Coach and Actor, Hazel Holder (As You Like It, Medea and Nine Night at the National Theatre)
  • Theatre reviewers, Maddy Costa and Alice Saville
  • Emma Reidy, Digital Content Producer at the National Theatre, and Sam Sedgman, writer and digital producer
  • Director, Ned Bennett (Pomona, Yen, An Octoroon at the National Theatre) and Designer, Georgia Lowe (An Octoroon at the National Theatre)

Panel Discussion: Exploring Contemporary Practitioners with:

  • Emma Rice (Artistic Director, Wise Children and former Artistic Director, Kneehigh)
  • Suzanne Andrade ( Co-founder 1927)
  • Sharon Kanolik (Head of Learning and Participation, Frantic Assembly)
  • Colin Nightingale (Creative Producer, Punchdrunk)

The conference fee includes lunch, refreshments and a ticket to a National Theatre production on the evening of Thursday 21 February.
