Make Theatre Days

Young people participating in a lighting workshop

Make Theatre Days

Make Theatre Days are a great opportunity to introduce students to backstage careers. By exploring the National Theatre’s practice through a backstage tour, handling professional props and costume, and a workshop on either lighting and sound or costume and set design, students will spend the day learning hands-on skills from professionals in the arts industry.

Make Theatre Days are £180 for state schools, bursaries are available. Due to limited capacity we do not offer these to independent schools.

Make Theatre Days are sold out for the current school year. For more information or to register your interest in a Make Theatre Day please contact Sarah Eastaff, Secondary and Further Education Programme Manager: seastaff@nationaltheatre.org.uk

Relaxed Make Theatre Days

Perfect for groups that would benefit from a more relaxed tour and workshop environment – including those with an autism spectrum condition or learning disability. Your students will visit one of the three NT auditoriums, try on costumes, handle some props & puppets and visit the backstage workshops. In the afternoon your class will participate in a performance or puppetry workshop led by a NT drama practitioner. All staff leading the day are specially trained in working with children with a variety of needs.

Relaxed Make Theatre Days have a reduced cost of £100 per visit/class for up to 12 pupils. Bursaries are available.

Relaxed Make Theatre Days are sold out for the current school year. For more information, please contact Sarah Eastaff.
