Props Hire Store

Information on our props and furniture.

Our Props Hire store is situated just across the courtyard from the Costume Hire store. It comprises three large warehouse rooms full of furniture and props ranging from beautiful period pieces to the weird and wonderful such as severed heads, stuffed animals, fake food and restraining chairs.

The majority of our stock has come from previous National Theatre productions. Much of it has been created by our highly skilled team of makers and is often not quite what it appears at first glance. Expert paint techniques and clever tricks of the trade can fool one into thinking that a tempting plate of chocolate éclairs is far more tasty it actually is!
