River Stage Festival Weekend 2018: The Glory

East London’s most notorious establishment The Glory returns to the National Theatre in 2018! We're promised a drag-fuelled weekend packed with fabulous back-to-back shows, surprise guests and parties! The Glory is considered the creative HQ of London’s alternative cabaret scene.

Did you miss this annual outdoor showcase as drag landlords Jonny Woo and John Sizzle summoned some of the capital’s finest stars out onto the sunny boards of the River Stage for one weekend only? Not to worry - here's another weekend planned for summer 2018!

Summer pop-ups
While visiting, why not grab a drink or a bite to eat from one of our summer pop-ups? Enjoy a gourmet wood-fired pizza from the Pizza Van, mix yourself a cocktail made of botanical ingredients from the Apothecary bar or grab a cold beer from the Understudy Riverside Pop-Up Bar. There is something for everyone at the NT this summer.

Big Gay Songbook

The Glory’s legendary piano-bar show appears on the River Stage with drag pianist Rudi Douglas and the legendary Jonny Woo, plus special guest Farah. “Singing the songs that make us gay” - From Whitney to Britney via Erasure, Bowie and Madge. A new take on the long lost tradition of round-the-piano pub sing-a-longs, with a contemporary drag twist.

Sex Shells

London’s leading LGBT+ sketch comedy troupe Sex Shells will be appearing on the River Stage interspersed throughout the day, inbetween acts, giving you absurd pop parodies, musical theatre re-writes, trashy celebrities and camp tomfoolery.
