River Stage weekend takeover: The Glory
THE GLORY PRESENTS: APOCALYPSTICK
East London’s most notorious establishment The Glory is back at the National Theatre! Expect a drag-fuelled weekend packed with fabulous back-to-back shows, surprise guests and parties! The Glory is considered the creative HQ of London’s alternative scene.
Don’t miss this annual outdoor showcase as drag landlords Jonny Woo and John Sizzle summon some of the capital’s finest stars out onto the sunny boards of the River Stage for one weekend only! Sequined to the max and prosecco on tap!
This year The Glory tribe is feeling fiercer than ever. The world has changed since last summer – trouble is afoot - get ready for the “APOCALYPSTICK!” A weekend brought to you by radical fairies Figs in Wigs, Timberlina, Shesus & the Sistas and Sex Shells. Plus there’s Jonny Woo’s celebrated Edinburgh Festival hit Night of a Thousand Jay Astons, along with performance drag king and queen vagabonds and celebrated West End stars Le Gateau Chocolat and Richard Thomas. Family fun and anarchic parties all weekend long.
While visiting, why not grab a drink or a bite to eat from one of the new summer pop-ups? Enjoy a gourmet wood-fired pizza from the Pizza Van, mix yourself a cocktail at the Apothecary bar or grab a cold beer from The Understudy's riverside pop-up bar. There is something for everyone at the NT this summer.
