The big red River Stage returned in summer 2017 with an exciting and eclectic mix of weekend takeovers.

River Stage returns in 2018. Full line up announced 6 June.

The 2017 line-up featured takeover weekends from East London’s The Glory, HOME Manchester, Rambert and the National Theatre.

28 to 30 July 2017: The Glory

East London’s alternative establishment brings a drag-packed tour-de-force of shows, DJs and outrageous fun.

11 – 13 August 2017: WOMAD

The World’s Festival descends upon the River Stage with a diverse programme celebrating the best music you’ve never heard, from around the globe.

25 – 28 August 2017: National Theatre

A Bank Holiday weekend mix of live music, DJs, tea dance and family theatre, as well as an outdoor cinema screening.

HOME, Manchester’s centre for international contemporary theatre, art, film and music bring their eclectic line-up of performances, dance and special guest DJs to our outdoor stage.

Internationally renowned dance company Rambert fills the stage with various solos and group pieces from their stunning repertoire.
