The big red River Stage returns this summer with an exciting and eclectic mix of weekend takeovers.

There’s something for everyone including live music, dance, DJs, family workshops, club nights and theatre, and it’s all free! 

Join the party atmosphere and get your hands on tasty street food including cheese toasties, wood-fired pizza and gelato ice cream or try our local craft beers and summer cocktails. 

Featuring takeover weekends from East London’s The Glory, HOME Manchester, Sadler's Wells, Non Classical and the National Theatre.

Full line up announced 6 June.

East London’s alternative cabaret mecca brings a drag-packed tour-de-force of shows, DJs and outrageous fun.

27 - 29 July: Sadler's Wells

Sadler's Wells, a world-leading creative organisation dedicated to dance in all its forms, presents a weekend of exciting choreography, live music, and dance workshops for all ages & abilities for its first NT River Stage takeover.

HOME, Manchester’s centre for international contemporary theatre, art, film and music bring their eclectic line-up of performances, dance and special guest DJs to our outdoor stage.

3 - 5 August: Nonclassical

Redefining the rules and breaking out of the constraints of the traditional concert hall, Nonclassical turns classical music on its head. They bring their vibrant East London club night - with live performers and DJs - to the NT.
