From Monday 20 December, everyone aged 18+ entering the building in the period leading up to performances will be asked to present either proof of vaccination status, or a negative lateral flow test result. This applies from 12pm on matinee days and 5.30pm for evening performances.
We believe this is a sensible additional measure that will help keep everyone safe at this time – audiences, staff and performers.
You can do so in one of the following ways:
proof of full vaccination if you have received two or more doses at least 14 days prior to your performance time. You can present this certification via the NHS Covid Pass within the NHS App, or by printing a paper copy using the NHS online service, or by showing an internationally-recognised equivalent. If you do not have a smart phone or printer, please click here for details of how to request an NHS Covid Pass letter.
proof of a negative Lateral Flow or PCR Test via the NHS App, or a text message or email from NHS Test and Trace. This test must be taken within 48 hours of your performance time.
Audience members aged under 18 (or a parent or guardian on their behalf) must be able to give verbal confirmation that they have not received a positive test for Covid-19 within the last 14 days and are not displaying symptoms of Covid-19.
Members of the UK armed forces need to visit the 'My health care hub' on the Defence Gateway to find out how to get their NHS Covid Pass.
Medical Exemption: you can apply for proof that you have a medical reason why you should not be vaccinated or why you should not be vaccinated and tested. Phone the NHS Covid Pass service on 119 to ask for an NHS Covid Pass medical exemptions application form.
If you’ve booked tickets for this period and are not happy to comply with the requirement to present proof of a negative test or vaccination, please contact our Box Office by email on [email protected] who will be happy to offer credit or a refund if you prefer.
Everyone entering our building is required to wear a face covering (unless exempt). You can read more about our safety measures at the National Theatre here.
