Aysha Kala trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Productions include: Much Ado About Nothing for the RSC; Scandaltown at the Lyric, Hammersmith; Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike at Theatre Royal Bath; An Adventure at the Bush; Frogman at Shoreditch Town Hall; Obsession at the Barbican; Punk Play and Farragut North at Southwark Playhouse; Djinns of Eidgah at the Royal Court; and Khadija is 18 at the Finborough.

Work in theatre, as an assistant director includes: The Memory of Water at Hampstead Theatre; and Testmatch for English Touring Theatre and Theatre Royal, Bath.
