Your visit

We can’t wait to welcome you back to the National Theatre.

We've made many changes to protect your wellbeing and audience experience, including a transformed Olivier theatre with physically distanced seating.  These measures are all based on COVID-19 industry standards and Government advice about Tier 2 restrictions.

  • Before your visit, we will send emails with your e-tickets, arrival information and helpful tips on what to expect.
  • Please plan to arrive on time with your household or support bubble, so we can welcome you to the theatre as a group.
  • While Tier 2 COVID restrictions apply in London, we encourage you to check travel guidance for your local area's current tier.
  • Once inside the theatre, we ask that anyone aged 11+ please wear a face covering at all times when not eating or drinking.
  • Our team will guide you through a socially distanced one-way route to your seats in the auditorium.  Rest assured our large, well-ventilated foyer spaces will give you lots of room to move around.
  • You’ll also notice plenty of sanitiser stations, while enhanced cleaning takes place before, during and after each performance.
  • All pre-ordered drinks and snacks will be available to collect on the way to your seats, and interval orders will be delivered to you during the break.
  • If you are one of the first to take your seats, then there may be a short wait until the performance begins.

Your tickets

Our teams have been hard at work transforming the Olivier theatre to stage a season of in-the-round performances with a socially-distanced capacity of almost 500 people.

Arranged in groups of 1-4 people, this means that we can protect you, our audiences, while also protecting the unique intimacy of the live performance experience.

Tickets can only be booked online and in advance, and we're pleased to offer 200 at £20 for each performance.

We also want you to feel as confident in your booking as possible, so we will give all ticket holders the opportunity to exchange tickets up to 24 hours before your performance. In addition, if Government measures lead to any changes to the performance schedule, ticket holders will of course be entitled to a refund.
