Akhila Krishnan trained at the Royal College of Art and the National Institute of Design in India and was previously Senior Designer at 59 Productions.

Other productions include: Assassins at Chichester; Mandela and Chasing Hares at the Young Vic; Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical at the Old Globe, San Diego; What’s New Pussycat at Birmingham Rep; The Two Character Play at Hampstead; Oliver Twist for Leeds Playhouse and Ramps on the Moon; While You Are Here for The Place and Dance East; and Maggot Moon at the Unicorn. Opera includes The Handmaid’s Tale, The Rhinegold and The Valkyrie for English National Opera; Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg for Wiener Staatsoper; The Wreckers at Glyndebourne; Samson et Dalila, The Knife of Dawn, Echoes at the Gate and 8bit at the Royal Opera House; and Syllable for Theatre O.

Film

Live broadcast and film direction includes: POD and Lifesongs at Guildhall. Event design includes Sound of Colour for Arthouse, Jersey; and Mamma Mia: The Party at the O2 Arena.
