Inspiring the next generation
We believe that theatre and creativity should be part of every child’s education.
Access to theatre in school improves literacy, communication, teamwork and social skills. Taking part develops confidence and can inspire a career in the UK’s world-class creative industries.
In schools
Last year, National Theatre teaching resources were used by 97% of UK schools and colleges.
We create a wide range of programmes and resources for teachers, to help them inspire creativity in their classrooms.

Speak Up
Speak Up aims to inspire young people to speak up about the issues that matter to them – in their schools, their communities and nationally. Young people work collaboratively with their teachers, artists, local arts organisations and the National Theatre to make local artworks and creative projects.
