Old Possum’s Practical Trust and young people’s playwriting

If Not Now, When by Isabel Hague - New Views 2019 Winner

Old Possum’s Practical Trust and young people’s playwriting

Old Possum’s Practical Trust was established by Valerie Eliot, the wife of the poet, dramatist, critic, editor and publisher T. S. Eliot. The Trust supports literary, educational and theatrical projects.

We are very grateful to Old Possum’s Practical Trust for its generous, longstanding support of New Views, our playwriting competition for 14-19 year olds. Each year, hundreds of students from across the UK learn about playwriting from some of the finest writers in the industry and write their own 30-minute plays. One play is then produced at the National Theatre with a professional cast and crew, alongside rehearsed readings of other plays.

Upon the outbreak of COVID-19, the T. S. Eliot Foundation gave us an additional grant to help support our work, for which we are very grateful.
