About the American Associates of the National Theatre

The American Associates of the National Theatre (AANT) is a New York-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which grants up to $4 million each year to support the work of the National Theatre in the United Kingdom and in the United States.

Under the leadership of Rufus Norris, the National Theatre of Great Britain is mission driven to share its work with as many people as possible. National Theatre productions reach a worldwide audience of up to 4.1 million each year, reaching beyond its three stages in London through onsite and digital learning programs, touring nationally and internationally, and through National Theatre Live, which broadcasts live performances to cinemas around the world.

The NT has a very special relationship with America and American theatre, exemplified by Tony Award-winning Broadway transfers and an exceptional history of US productions at its South Bank home. A dedicated NT America producing office is based in New York, working closely alongside the American Associates of the National Theatre.

The essential funds raised by the AANT enable the National Theatre to continue developing its world-class program with affordable ticket prices, and to extend this work to audiences, artists and young people around the globe.

As a thank you to its supporters, the AANT holds events throughout the year in the US, including a program of National Theatre Live private screenings, events with visiting NT artists and special evenings around US production transfers.

Contributions to the AANT are tax deductible for US taxpayers to the full extent allowed by law. The AANT’s Federal Tax Identification number is 13-414-0412.
