Farewell the tranquil mind.

This November, Othello returns to the National Theatre.

Deputy Artistic Director, Clint Dyer, directs an extraordinary new vision for one of Shakespeare’s most enduring tragedies.

This landmark production marks the first time the play has been staged by a Black director at a major British venue.

Please support Clint to bring his authentic interpretation to life – and reach the broadest possible audience, on stage at the National Theatre, on-screen through National Theatre Live, and in classrooms around the globe with National Theatre Collection.

Support by making a donation

Gifts of all sizes are welcome and we hope that, together, we can bring this extraordinary new vision of Othello to the broadest possible audience.

As a thank you, we will keep you up to date as the production progresses and share special insights.

A word from Clint Dyer, Deputy Artistic Director

This contemporary production will subvert the traditional stagings that we know so well and reframe the play to focus on Othello and Desdemona’s desire for a life together and the unseen forces that conspire against them.

Putting on a production of this scale is no small feat and comes with its own risk, financial and logistical. As Deputy Artistic Director, I would love for you to show your support by making a gift and standing beside me as we tell this important story.
