Social Spaces at the National Theatre. Part of Open House London.

Sat 21 September, 3pm
Running Time: 1 hour

Aside from its three stages, the architecture of the National Theatre includes many spaces dedicated to social interaction. Architect Denys Lasdun named the foyer spaces as ‘The Fourth Auditorium’. In this event we explore the ‘Fourth Auditorium’ and the social spaces at the NT.

Explore the building’s importance and relationship to its neighbours with the NT’s Head of External Relations, John Langley; and hear some gob-smacking stories of social interaction from the NT’s Head of Tours and Visiting, Alison Rae; and find out how the NT’s archival work provides a serious social purpose with the Head of the NT Archive, Erin Lee.

Entry is free - booking required.
