Peer Gynt productions at the NT: 1990, 2000 and 2019

Daniel Rosenthal explores the three National Theatre productions of Peer Gynt: versions by Kenneth McLeish (Olivier, 1990), Frank McGuinness (Olivier, 2000) and David Hare’s new adaptation, Peter Gynt, playing in the Olivier from July. This session includes an opportunity to handle photographs, costume plots and other Peer Gynt materials from the NT Archive.

Dr Daniel Rosenthal is the author of The National Theatre Story (Oberon Books, 2013), which won the Theatre Book Prize, and the editor of Dramatic Exchanges: The Lives and Letters of the National Theatre (Profile Books, 2018). He presents the Play Writers interview series for Digital Theatre Plus.
