Making Dramatic Violence

Thu 27 February, 5.30pm
Running Time: 90 minutes

Have you ever wondered what it takes to present realistic dramatic violence on stage? Rachel Bown-Williams and Ruth Cooper-Brown from Rc-Annie Ltd, the Fight Directors on The Welkin, share how they applied their expertise in creating violent encounters to the production, with practical demonstrations of how actors are choreographed to bring violence and disturbance to life.

Rc-Annie choreographs action for theatre and film, working closely with the director and actors. Previous National Theatre productions include ANNA, When We Have Sufficiently Tortured Each Other, Common, Ugly Lies the Bone, Peter Pan, The Threepenny Opera, Cleansed and The James Plays (co-production with National Theatre of Scotland and Edinburgh International Festival).
