Granville Barker on Theatre with Roger Michell and Colin Chambers

Mon 7 May, 6pm
Running Time: 1 hour

Granville Barker reinvented our theatre, as actor, director, producer, and writer – as important as Stanislavsky or Brecht, yet in his own country barely appreciated. A conversation between Colin Chambers, co-editor of Granville Barker on Theatre, a collection of his lost or forgotten theatre writings, and Roger Michell, director of the acclaimed 2016 National Theatre revival of Barker’s Waste, uses the collection to re-assess the work of this major figure in British theatre.
