This full day event will explore both the making of the NT production of The Welkin, as well as the historical context.

12:15 – 1:15pm             The Welkin in context: Midwifery and childbirth in Georgian England

Kirsty Chilton, Medical Historian, Old Operating Theatre Museum and Herb Garret

1:15 – 2:30pm               Lunch

2:30 – 4pm                   Inside The Welkin Rehearsal Room

Sara Joyce, Staff Director and members of the understudy company demonstrate how sections of the text were approached in rehearsals.
