Daniel Rosenthal (The National Theatre Story) leads this session on Peter Shaffer’s immensely popular plays. Delving into National Theatre productions of The Royal Hunt of the Sun, Black Comedy, Equus, Amadeus and Yonadab, it will explore Shaffer’s outstanding contribution to the NT’s history, and the legacy of his work. Extracts from his plays will be performed, and audiences can sift through original NT Archive material from world premieres and revivals, from The Royal Hunt...in 1964, through to this autumn’s Amadeus.
