Thursday 4 October, 6.30–9.30pm
John Lyons Education Studio, National Theatre
This workshop is available to 16–21-year-olds
£10 (bursaries are available)
Price includes a ticket to see Hadestown on Tuesday 6 November at 7.30pm
Myths are stories that we tell again and again, and each retelling reflects the time in which it is told. Hadestown reimagines the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in the light of industrialisation, climate change, and the 21st century.
In this practical workshop with Hadestown director, Rachel Chavkin, you will develop your own musical adaptation of a myth that you love. Working together, you will dramatise a pivotal moment in the story using music and song and share it at the end of the workshop.
If you are interested in directing, acting or musical theatre then this workshop is for you.
We would never want cost to prevent anyone from taking part. Full and part-funded bursary places are available. If you would like to apply for one, please fill in this form.
