Remember A Charity

Proud Supporters of Remember A Charity in your Will Week 11-17 September 2017

Remember A Charity

The National Theatre is proud to have become a member of Remember A Charity, an organisation dedicated to raising awareness of gifts in Wills, in collaboration with over 180 leading charities.

Remember A Charity was formed in 2000 and now works with the UK's favourite charities to encourage more people to consider leaving a charitable gift in their will, after they've looked after their family and friends. Together, we aim to make legacy giving a social norm.

Gifts in Wills form an essential source of support to National Theatre programmes and initiatives that aim to safeguard our remarkable work for future audiences. These gifts allow us to plan for the future with confidence.

Remember A Charity Week

From 11 to 17 September, the National took part in Remember A Charity Week by dedicating performances across the week to the NT Treasures (a group of over 170 audience members who have chosen to support the NT with a gift in their Will).

This year’s campaign urged the public to ‘have your say on the world you want to pass on’, inspiring people to pass on something even more special – a gift in their Will. We reached out to our own community of NT Treasures, who have pledged to leave a gift to the National Theatre in their Will, to ask them what kind of world they hoped their gift would pass on.

Through their words we hope we can inspire more people to consider supporting the NT in this special way:

‘I'd like to pass on a world where young people can engage with theatre and the arts from school days.’
Monica

‘I'd like to pass on a world where new generations can find the inspiration and delight in theatre. I'd like to help keep ticket prices low so that our National Theatre continues to be able to cater for everyone .’
Susan

‘I'd like to pass on a world where the wonder and brilliance of theatre is available to all.’
Stuart

'I'd like to pass on a world where other people of all generations can experience the joy of seeing theatrical productions of great variety and outstanding quality.’
Wendy

‘I'd like to pass on a world where live theatre with all its excitement and inspiration and in all its variety of form still flourishes and is available at low prices for all to be able to attend and enjoy.’
Anne
