Orlando Gough is an associate artist of the Royal Opera House. He predominantly writes music for theatre, opera, dance and music theatre. He also directs the left-field choir The Shout and devises and directs large-scale site-specific choral pieces.
Recent site-specific work includes The Tree of Light, a dance piece at Stonor Park, part of the Cultural Olympiad; XX Scharnhorst for choirs and percussionists at HMS Belfast during the Thames Festival; Foghorn Requiem for foghorn, tuned ships' horns and brass bands at Souter Lighthouse, South Shields. Other recent work includes Hand Over Hand a choral piece for an expanded Hilliard Ensemble at the Roundhouse, Camden; and the operas Imago at Glyndebourne and Road Rage at Garsington Opera.
