Emily McLaughlin

Emily McLaughlin was appointed Head of Development for Fictionhouse in 2021. Between 2015 and 2021 she was the first Head of New Work for the National Theatre. She established the New Work Department and commissioned and dramaturgically developed multiple ground-breaking and award-winning new plays including Nine Night by Natasha Gordon and Death of England by Clint Dyer and Roy Williams. Prior to this Emily McLaughlin was Education Officer then Artistic Associate at the Royal Court, working with three successive Artistic Directors across 12 years to discover, champion and nurture new generations of playwrights. Emily McLaughlin is the Co-Editor of The Royal Court Theatre Inside Out published by Oberon Books.
