Joyce Moholoagae was born and raised in South Africa. She is a graduate in Music Performance from the University of Natal, and the Royal Academy of Music. She has performed in various music genres including opera, classical and South African jazz concerts; and worked with Darius Brubeck, Sibongile Khumalo, Hugh Masekela and Paco Peña. She is a tutor at the Working Men's College and SOAS. Joyce Moholoagae also works as a vocal workshop leader in the African style of singing, and teaches in schoold, colleges and universities around the UK. She performed in the world premiere of the African opera Princess Magogo; The Children's Monologue directed by Danny Boyle; and at The Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the BT River of Music 2012, where she was MD for a group of singers from southern Africa.
