Take Part in Connections

Applications for Connections 2020 are now open. Click here to apply. 

Every year we look for 300 youth theatres and schools to stage ten fantastic plays commissioned by the National Theatre.

We’ll provide you with all the support you’ll need and you’ll have the chance to stage your play in one of our leading partner theatres across the UK.

Key Dates for Connections 2019

2 April 2018 – Applications open

9 July 2018 at 12 noon – Applications close

13 July 2018 – We let you know if you have a place

10 September 2018 – You will need to let us know your two top play choices

In mid-September 2018 – We will confirm which play you will be producing

12 –14 October 2018  – Directors’ Weekend at the National Theatre (attendance required)

December 2018 – You will need to submit the dates of your two required Home Performances

February 2019 – You need to provide company demographic information

February – April 2019 – Home Performances take place

Mid-March – mid-May 2019 – Partner Theatre Festivals

Late June / early July 2019 – National Theatre Festival

Deadline for applications is Mon 8 July 2019, 12 noon. 

Connections is open to any company of young people aged 13-19. Whether you’re a school, youth theatre, voluntary organisation, are experienced or you’ve never staged a production before, your group can apply to be part of Connections.
