Connections

Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK's most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow.

Every year, 300 youth theatre companies and over 6,000 young people from every corner of the UK are producing a Connections play this year. This year we are adapting the Connections programme to be as flexible as possible, and to respond to the restrictions in place due to Covid-19.

Applications for Connections 2022 are now open and can be found here and will close on Wednesday 1st September at 12pm. Please email the Connections team at [email protected] if you have any queries.

The National Theatre’s Partner for Learning is Bank of America.

Connections is supported by The Mohn Westlake Foundation, Buffini Chao Foundation, The EBM Charitable Trust, The Broughton Family Charitable Trust, The Peter Cundill Foundation, CHK Foundation, Delta Air Lines, Katie Bradford Arts Trust, Mactaggart Third Fund, Susan Miller and Byron Grote, Sherling Charitable Trust, Mulberry Trust, and The Royal Victoria Hall Foundation
