Functions and Private Hire
The National Theatre's foyers, restaurants, private rooms and outdoor terraces are all available for hire, and can be used in any combination.
Whatever kind of event you're planning – a press launch, a business meeting for ten or a lavish post-show reception for hundreds – the National Theatre can stage manage it for you. Our events management team draw on the skills of the Theatre's expert production staff, and liaise with other in-house and external specialists to ensure every event is a success.
The food produced by the National Theatre's accomplished catering team is creative, delicious and can be tailored to suit any event. NT Catering is run in house as an integral part of the theatre, and helps to build the atmosphere which makes the NT such an extraordinary venue.

Olivier Stalls Foyer
With great views of the river and easy access to the terraces and bars, it's ideal for daytime press/product launches and award ceremonies. Also a good space if you're entertaining around a performance in the Olivier.

Lyttelton Exhibition Area
A changing programme of exhibitions forms the backdrop to this versatile space. An ideal space for entertaining around a performance in the Lyttelton, when guests can listen to pre-performance music in the foyer below, or a post-show dinner.

Mezzanine
Popular with both theatre-goers and performers, the National's restaurant is ideal for business lunches and celebration dinners.
Capacity: 110 seated/150 standing

Terrace Bar and Food
Cafe and wine bar with excellent views of the river and easy access to the terraces, perfect for daytime presentations and lunches, or post show parties.

Private Rooms
Gielgud Room
Ideal for private dinners, small-scale presentations and receptions.
Capacity: 12 seated /15 standing
Hire charge: £175 +vat (4 hours or under)

Richardson Room
Ideal for private dinners, small-scale presentations and receptions.
Capacity: 12 seated /20 standing

Ashcroft Room
This light and airy room overlooking the river is perfect for daytime business meetings, small presentations and working lunches.

The Deck
The Deck is a brand new summer function space at the National Theatre available to hire for dinners, conferences and receptions from April to October.
When you hire The Deck, you hire the whole of London: from the gleaming 'Gherkin' in the east, to the towers of Westminster. It's one of the most iconic panoramas of the capital and an inspiring backdrop for any event.
The light, modern structure of The Deck and it's adjoining terrace make the most of this prime location. What better place, after all, to host a business or social event than the glamorous South Bank?
