NT Posters
The posters in the collection are some of the most visually stimulating theatre posters produced anywhere in the last 40 years. Posters are designed, usually in-house by the National's Graphics Department, for every production at the National. The collection also includes posters for visting productions, touring posters, exhibition posters, and repertoire posters.
Almost the entire collection of National Theatre posters are now available to view and buy on a dedicated website: www.ntposters.org.uk .
This new initiative will enable people to access almost the entire range of National Theatre posters, creating a rich research resource; the posters are available to buy in a range of sizes from the site. The images range from iconic photographs such as Laurence Olivier and Maggie Smith in Othello to striking graphics like those employed for Peter Shaffer's Equus; and from Gerald Scarfe's cartoon for Battle Royal to charming illustrations such as The Wind in the Willows.
