How to get in touch
The NT Archive is open to anyone with an interest in the National's history... theatre practitioners, academics, journalists, writers, picture editors and students from anywhere in the world.
Christmas Closure:
The NT Archive will be closed to the public from Wednesday 24 December, reopening Monday 5 January 2009. We will be answering e-mail enquiries during the closure period but may not be able to give a detailed response until reopening in January.

Opening hours:
The Archive is open to researchers Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, excepting Thursdays when we open from 12 to 8pm, by prior appointment only.
In person:
The Archive is open to researchers Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, excepting Thursdays when we open from 12 to 8pm, by prior appointment only. The development of the National Theatre Digital Archive system (NTDA) allows on-demand access to audio and video from the NT collection, five workstations are available allowing two researchers per station. Our Seminar Room is available for formal learning programmes and informal talks and screenings for larger groups - please apply for bookings at least one week in advance. Regular public screenings in the Seminar Room will be advertised in the National Theatre's foyer.

Access:
The Archive research room is located on the first floor level, it is accessible via a lift. If you have any specific access requirements please discuss these with the Archivist.
Reprographic Services:
For researchers unable to visit the Archive, there is a photocopying service for certain types of materials. Current charges are 20p per A4 sheet and 30p per A3 sheet plus postage and packing. A copyright declaration must be signed and returned, together with payment, before despatch.
