Tim van Eyken
Tim van Eyken was in the original production of War Horse at the National Theatre. He is a multi-award winning singer and musician, known for his trademark devotion to the traditional music of Britain. He was invited to join Martin and Eliza Carthy and Norma Waterson as the fourth member of world renowned Waterson:Carthy. He toured and recorded with them for six years, recording four albums, and gaining a wealth of experience which he later brought to bear when he co-founded supergroup Dr Faustus, seen by many as the spearhead of a new movement championing English folk music. He re-emerged as a solo performer releasing his recent groundbreaking album Stiffs, Lovers, Holymen, Thieves, voted Pop CD of the Week by The Sunday Times. He received four nominations in the BBC Folk Awards, winning the much-coveted Best Traditional Track for his interpretation of Barleycorn. Tim’s next album will be released by Topic Records in spring 2009.Published August 2008
