People on tour

Following its smash-hit at the National Theatre, Alan Bennett’s acclaimed new comedy People toured England in the autumn of 2013.

People spoil things; there are so many of them and the last thing one wants is them traipsing through one’s house. But with the park a jungle and a bath on the billiard table, what is Dorothy to do?

Her archdeacon sister wants to hand the estate to the care of the National Trust, but Dorothy favours a more creative solution.

People reunits Alan Bennett and director Nicholas Hytner, following their collaborations on the celebrated The History Boys and The Habit of Art.

Tour cast includes Siân Phillips as Dorothy, Brigit Forsyth as Iris and Selina Cadell as June.
