Through imaginative and innovative in-school, on-site and online activities, NT Learning opens up the National's repertoire, artistry, skills, and the building itself, enabling participants of all ages to discover new skills and experience the excitement of theatre-making.

    A national festival of new writing and young theatre making. The concept is simple - exciting new plays, commissioned by the National Theatre and performed by youth theatre groups across the UK, with professional support from the NT and its partner theatres.

    The NT’s unique and inspiring communications-based training programme – drawing on techniques used by actors and directors in the rehearsal room.

    Our training courses cover diverse subjects such as Personal Impact, Body Language, Influencing Others, Developing Resilience and Voice.

    The Learning Department offers a range of activities including Continuing Professional Development for teachers, workshops and Q&A's for school and college groups, masterclasses and events around specific shows.

  • Primary and Early Years Programme

    NT Learning offers a range of activities and projects for nurseries and primary schools throughout the year. The Primary and Early Years programme includes touring productions, workshops, CPD for teachers and projects working with local parents and families.
