    Get hands on with all aspects of theatre-making, from playwriting to mask-making to in-depth talks, all delivered by National Theatre artists and experts.

    The Learning Department offers a range of activities including Continuing Professional Development for teachers, workshops and Q&A's for school and college groups, masterclasses and events around specific shows.

  • Connections

    A national festival of new writing and young theatre making. The concept is simple - exciting new plays, commissioned by the National Theatre and performed by youth theatre groups across the UK, with professional support from the NT and its partner theatres.

  • Theatreworks

    The NT’s unique and inspiring communications-based training programme – drawing on techniques used by actors and directors in the rehearsal room.

    Our training courses cover diverse subjects such as Personal Impact, Body Language, Influencing Others, Developing Resilience and Voice.

  • Primary Programme

    NT Learning offers a range of activities and projects for primary schools throughout the year. There are opportunities for both Key Stage 1 and 2. The programme includes touring productions, projects, workshops and CPD for teachers.
