Women of Troy

by Euripides from a version by Don Taylor

An industrial port of a war-torn city. Women survivors wait to be shipped abroad. Officials come and go. A grandmother, once Queen, watches as her remaining family are taken from her one by one.

The city burns around them.

Only the dead shed no tears. They are beyond weeping.

A radical interpretation of Euripides’ great tragedy.

4 Stars Evening Standard

‘Feverish energy…Atmospherically impressive…
Kate Duchene as Hecuba exudes angry resilience; Susie Trayling conveys Helen’s tricksy self-justification.’
Guardian

Running Time: 1 hour, 20 minutes (no interval)

Women of Troy finished on: 27 February 2008
