Family Workshops
These exciting new workshops are made specifically for families to enjoy together. It doesn't matter if you're young or older: the NT's Family Workshops are a perfect way to extend your understanding and enjoyment of performances in the National's repertoire.
War Horse: CONTEXT
For those who want to. Find out what life was like during WW1, both at home and on the battlefield and discover the crucial role played by horses in farming and in warfare. Learn more about the context of the play with objects from the Imperial War Museum's handling collection to help bring the history to life.
War Horse: ACTIVE
Work with members of the company to learn how to walk and talk like a horse! Discover how the War Horse puppeteers came to understand and recreate the precise movements of real-life horses; make your own puppets from everyday objects and practice combining the two to create your very own version of War Horse.

Major Barbara
Experience how the etiquette and the costume of Edwardian society shapes the way characters think, feel and behave, whilst practicing the rhetorical techniques that are crucial for understanding and communicating Shaw's rich language. Delivered by Gareth Machin, Staff Director on Major Barbara and members of the company.
