Othello

Following a sell-out run in the Cottesloe and a world tour, Shakespeare's classic tragedy of envy and sexual jealousy returns to the National for a limited run in the Lyttelton.

David Harewood, in his debut at the National, plays Othello in Shakespeare's classic tragedy of envy and sexual jealousy.

Simon Russell Beale, who plays Iago, was recently seen here in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and Volpone.

Desdemona is played by Claire Skinner, whose work includes The Glass Menagerie (Donmar Warehouse and Comedy Theatre) and Mike Leigh's Life is Sweet.

Sam Mendes is the Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse where his recent productions include Habeas Corpus and Company. His work at the National includes The Birthdsay Party and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.
