National Theatre Inside Out

2 July – 9 September, 2012

Supported by American Express.

Activities normally conducted inside the Theatre will spill out onto the terraces and squares, with a packed festival programme of free activities.  In Theatre Square, the annual Watch This Space programme will showcase the best of national and international outdoor performance. non zero one and Made in China will perform site-specific work on and around the building.  

September – November 2012 season

Damned by Despair
Bijan Sheibani directs a new production of Tirso de Molina’s play, in a version by Frank McGuiness. Olivier Theatre, from October. Travelex £12 Tickets.

This House
Jeremy Herrin directs this new play by James Graham. Cottesloe Theatre, from September.

November 2012 – January 2013 season

People
Alan Bennett’s new play, directed by Nicholas Hytner. Lyttelton Theatre, from October.

The Count of Monte Cristo

Alexandre Dumas's classic tale, adapted by Richard Bean for family audiences. Olivier Theatre, from November booking now open.

The Effect

A new play by Lucy Prebble in a co-production with Headlong, directed by Rupert Goold. Cottesloe Theatre, from November.

Hansel and Gretel
Katie Mitchell stages the classic fairytale in a production for 4 to 7 year-olds. Cottesloe Theatre, from December. Supported by Neptune Investment Management.

January – April 2013 season

The Captain of Kopenick
Antony Sher plays the title role in Carl Zuckmayer’s play, directed by Adrian Noble. Olivier Theatre, from January 2013.

Port

Simon Stephens's play, directed by Marianne Elliott.  Lyttelton Theatre, from January 2013.

Children of the Sun
Howard Davies directs Maxim Gorky’s play. Lyttelton Theatre, from March 2013.

April – June 2013 season

On sale from January 2013

Othello
Nicholas Hytner directs Adrian Lester as Othello and Rory Kinnear as Iago. Olivier Theatre, from April 2013.
