Valentine’s Day Film: It Happened One Night

Tue 14 Feb, 6.30pm, FREE

Projected on to the Flytower, best viewed from the Baylis Terrace, level 2

Wrap up warm with a loved one and enjoy a free outdoor screening of Frank Capra’s screwball romance which paired Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert for the first time.

Despite their reservations about the script, It Happened One Night went on to win five Academy Awards. Hollywood legend claims that as a result of the scene in which Gable undresses controversially to reveal his bare chest, US sales of men’s undershirts declined noticeably. (1934, dir: Frank Capra, 105 mins)

There will be limited deckchair seating available on the Baylis Terrace and plenty of room to sit on the floor. Bring warm blankets and something comfy to sit on!

And from the bar, to enjoy on the terrace…

The Classy Claudette
Two glasses of De Castellane Brut Rose & Turkish Delight (rose & lemon)  £10

The Classic Clark
Two Cointreau-laced hot chocolates and a box of Belgian chocolates £10
