At 17, Paven devised a play called Second Generation, exploring issues that effected her generation, from sexuality to identity. That gave her the title of her Theatre Company, Second Generation. Paven went on to write two plays with Second Generation in co-production with The Belgrade Theatre, for The Belgrade Studio, Girlie Talk and Boy Meets Girl. After a break Paven returned to writing full time in 2009. She has been part of the Theatre Royal Stratford East Musical Theatre Writing Residency and completed a 10 week writing attachment to the National Theatre Studio in 2010.
For Theatre Paven is currently under commission to the Tricycle Theatre. Her other credits include a rehearsed reading of Borders (Tricycle Theatre, Afghanistan season), Come To Where I'm From (Paines Plough, The Belgrade Theatre) England's Lane ( West Yorkshire Playhouse as part of the BBC Northern Exposure programme), Who You Calling A Superhero? (The Michael Frayn Space/Hampstead Theatre, Heat & Light) and an adaptation of The Boy And Dog Who Walked To The Moon by Nicholas Cross (Edinburgh Festival/Pleasance Theatre - Must See and Hit List).
For Film, Paven is currently developing an original film with Cowboy Films called East with director Martina Amati (BAFTA 2010 for I DO AIR). She is collaborating with director China Moo-Young on 12 Dancehall Princesses, a radical adaptation of the classic Brothers Grimm Twelve Dancing Princess. She is also working on Three Minute Heroes (Selected for The Brit List 2010) a film inspired by the lives of three young people struggling to make something of themselves in music and sport during the political upheavals of the late 1970s. Produced by Mike Elliott. Paven was one of Screen International's Stars of Tomorrow in 2010.
For Television Paven is developing an original drama serial called Anjali's Guide To Love. A story of love between an Indian girl and a Northern Irish guy and LIVE/WORK a series idea with producer Andrea Michell.
