In Depth: Ibsen

In celebration of our new production of Ibsen’s Emperor & Galilean , we are running a two day intensive exploration of Ibsen and his extraordinary play.

The first day begins with a seminar given by Dr Marie Wells from the School of Scandinavian Studies at University College London, who worked on the production, followed in the afternoon by Stephen Unwin (author of Pocket Guide to Ibsen, available in the NT Bookshop) talking about directing Ibsen, with extracts from some of his plays read by NT actors.

The second day begins with an introduction of his new version of Emperor & Galilean by writer & NT Associate Director Ben Power, followed by the matinee performance of the play in the Olivier.
