The Cycle of Life

As the Tour de France races through London, the opening weekend of Watch This Space celebrates the joy of cycling. The Bicycle Ballet forms the centrepiece of the weekend – think Busby Berkeley on wheels! A wealth of unicycling, bicycling and tricycling acts bring the thrills of the humble velocoped to life in Theatre Square. Then look up to the fly tower to see some stunning Magnum photography. On Sunday, the first leg of the Tour de France passes along Upper Ground at the back of the National at around 10.30am. With road closures from 6am all along the route, it's probably best to leave the car at home.

On the whole, all the events in Watch This Space are pretty much suitable for anybody, but as a guide, the symbols below give an indication of shows that we think are rather good for particular audiences.

  • Family and younger audiences
  • People who are Deaf or hard of hearing
  • People who are blind or visually impaired
  • A more adult crowd (PG)
  • Rain-proof shows (hopefully)
  • Best of European!
