First Bond play in London in 10 years
Veteran playwright Edward Bond is to put on a new play in London.
A Window is the first of his plays to be staged in the capital for over a decade, according to the Stage.
The new drama will play for just four nights at the Oval House Theatre in Kennington from 4 November.
Directed by Chris Cooper, the play is the seventh Bond work to be commissioned by the Birmingham-based Big Brum theatre-in-education company.
A Window tells the story of a troubled pregnant woman left to fend for herself after her husband leaves.
After years of risk taking to help his mother, the woman's son has a "startling confrontation" with his estranged father.
The Oval House Theatre describes A Window as a "remarkable insight into the tangled problems of being human in an inhuman world".
Bond has written 45 plays which have been staged in over 60 countries, including shows for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre.
The playwright will take part in a post-show discussion after the opening performance.
