Any Which Way to open in Camden

4 November 2008

Any Which Way, a play tackling knife crime will open at the Only Connect Theatre in Camden tonight (November 4th).

Written by David Watson and directed by Maggie Norris and Only Connect co-founder Emma Kruger, the play is due to run until November 29th and marks the opening of the new venue.

Based on the true stories of ex-offenders, the cast includes Alicya Deno and Claire Perkins as well as a number of ex-inmates of HMP Holloway and Wormwood Scrubs.

The play was performed in front of 3,600 pupils at schools in Camden, Westminster, Haringey and Islington before being chosen as the first to become a production at the venue.

It was commissioned to highlight the growing problem of knife crime in the UK as the story tells of a friendship between two school boys which becomes divided by murder.

Since 2006, the company has produced August Wilson's Jitney and John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men in HMP Wormwood Scrubs as well as Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias in HMP Holloway.
