Entertaining Mr Sloane to be revived in 2009

Joe Orton's classic comedy Entertaining Mr Sloane is to be revived in a production at the Trafalgar Studios in the New Year.

The play will have a limited run at the theatre from January 22nd to April 11th 2009 and feature Matthew Horne and Imelda Staunton in the two leading roles.

Directed by Nick Bagnall and designed by Peter McKintosh and Colin Richmond, further casting for the production is to yet to be announced.

The play tells the story of the amoral Sloane, who charms his way into the household of the emotionally frail Kath and her bachelor brother Ed, who both become obsessed with the new man in their lives.

Horne, who plays Sloane, is Gavin in BBC comedy Gavin & Stacey, which he co-wrote with actor James Corden.

Imelda Staunton is known for her roles in films such as Vera Drake, Harry Potter, Bright Young Things, Peter's Friends and Shakespeare in Love.

Her numerous stage roles include performances in LIFE x 3 at the Lyttelton, National Theatre in 2000-01 and the National Theatre's revival of Guys and Dolls in 1996-97.
