Darren Fox studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and with Jeffrey Talbot and Arwel Trehan
Opera
His operatic roles include: Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Ferrando in Così fan tutte, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Conte Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Jaquino in Fidelio, Des Grieux in Manon, Pong Turandot, Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Don José in Carmen, Ferrando Così fan tutte and Beppe/Harlequin in I Pagliacci.
Contemporary opera has always featured large in Darren’s repertoire and includes several British and World premieres including: Adam in Josef Taal’s Der Garten, Boys and girls come out to play, The Blackened Man, Black and Blue, Clockwork, Pirates of Penzance and Yeomen of the Guard.
Darren Fox appears regularly in recitals and concerts and has recently appeared as a soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Albert Hall (Bruder in Weill’s Sieben Todsünden), and in the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican (Joe in Gershwin’s Blue Monday and Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti). His next recital programme – which will tour to venues in England, Wales and Holland – will include works by Debussy, Ravel and Poulenc.
