About
Although British actors' rehearsal periods are shorter than those elsewhere in Europe, actors spend much more time rehearsing for a play than they do for a film. There's a lot to look into in many classic texts, and complex relationships to be sorted out. All this is important preparation for long runs in front of large audiences.
