Theatreworks Partnerships

Theatreworks Partnerships operates in conjunction with community groups to provide opportunities for individuals to engage with the National Theatre, its repertoire and with the people who work here.

At its core lies the established and successful Theatreworks methodology - experiential based communication training that improves confidence and the ability for self-expression.

Projects for the Theatreworks sessions include cross-collaboration with Theatreworks trainers - leading experts in creative communication skills - and with NT in-house creative teams.

This collaborative approach was applied when working with a group of 16-25-year-olds who spent a week working in the NT Paintframe with scenic artists and with Theatreworks practitioners.  This culminated in the young people exhibiting and presenting their work to an invited audience.

In contrast, one particularly successful model was the collaboration with Maudsley NHS Foundation; a number of older (70+) out-patients worked with the War Horse creative team and Theatreworks facilitators to produce a devised response to War Horse.

Theatreworks Partnerships will be running a series of Open courses in 2011/12 - giving individuals the opportunity to experience our work first-hand. The sessions have been designed to cater for those with little or no theatre experience.
