Sound's journey through the Lyttelton

Sound's journey through the Lyttelton

About

Sound comes into the Lyttelton's sound control room at the back of the theatre from various sources; microphones might be used to relay the sound from the band room at the side of the stage, or radio mics might be used to amplify the voices of the performers. Prerecorded sound comes directly into the mixing desk from the computer in the adjacent room. Once it's all mixed in the desk, the signals are routed to amplifiers beneath the stage, and then to the loudspeakers around the theatre.
